Dock Requirements Checker
Check whether a published dock meets known listed host-connector, protocol, charging, display-output, and Ethernet requirements.
Search and choose a dock, then set the requirements you care about.
Related: Display Bandwidth Calculator — estimates display data requirement; this checker uses physical and protocol facts only.
How this was calculated
- The checker uses a normalized capability row built from explicit Icecat fields before page render.
- USB-C is a connector only. Thunderbolt, USB4, video, and Power Delivery are never inferred from USB-C.
- Host charging uses USB Power Delivery wattage only. Dock power-adapter wattage is not host PD.
- HDMI and DisplayPort checks are physical port counts. They are not simultaneous-display proof.
Limitations
- This does not know your laptop. Meeting listed requirements is not laptop compatibility.
- Missing catalog data stays unknown. Unknown is not a failure.
- Maximum simultaneous displays, DisplayLink, and MST are not evaluated here.
